    摘要:国际商务函电因为要进行大量的英文信函的书写练习使整个课程显得枯燥乏味,脱离实际业务的教学更使学生只学会了根据教材生搬硬套,写出的函电失去了应有的沟通本质,本文基于外贸业务,讨论了如何实现4Ps教学法在函电课程中的运用,真正使学生紧密联系外贸业务实际过程,考虑业务双方的立场,写出有意义的函电,理解函电沟通的本质。

    所谓4Ps是指在教学过程中紧密结合实际,以业务流程(Process)为导向,以业务项目(Project)为载体,注重学生对相关业务的操作(Practice),真正实现整个教学过程师生的共同参与(Participate)

    国际商务函电更多关注的是如何与海外客户进行顺利地沟通,这是整个外贸业务得以发展并顺利进行的基础及最基本的保证。因此,国际商务函电的教学,并非只是注重于基础英语教学中的拼写、语法、及相关语句的使用,更多的是在精通外贸业务流程基础上,根据具体情况有技巧地运用英文与客户沟通,达到顺利解决业务问题的目的。基于此点,我们积极探讨上述的4Ps教学法在国际商务函电中的运用。

    一、Process

    and

    Project:

    紧密结合业务流程,以项目为载体,对国际商务函电的教学内容进行重新构架。

    (一)外贸业务流程:

    外贸业务从开拓国外客户开始,直到订单的签订及合同的履行,整个流程比较复杂,主要包括以下方面:发出询盘(或客户询盘)、报价、还盘、签订合同、备货、商检、租船订舱、报关、装运、制单结算、退税、合同客户的后续维护等。在这些流程环节中,需要不断与海外客户沟通才能保证业务顺利进行的环节总结起来主要包括以下四个方面:市场开拓、交易磋商、合同签订及履行、业务善后。国际商务函电的教学就主要以外贸业务流程中的这四个环节为导向,将其内容划分为四个项目,每个项目下设定具体的教学任务,即:市场拓展(任务包括:建立贸易关系、展会邀请函),交易磋商(任务包括:询盘、发盘及还盘、订单及订单确认),合同履行及主要条款沟通(任务包括:支付、运输及包装、保险),客户维护(任务包括:抱怨及处理、索赔与理赔)。教学过程中根据每个项目设定项目目标,安排项目下的具体任务,帮助学生在精通贸易流程的基础上学会英文的沟通技巧。

    二、Practice

    Participate:

    强化学生操作,真正做到整个教学过程师生共同参与。

    国际商务函电课程的教学更加注重的是培养学生实际业务中面对具体问题,能够通过英文函电的往来,与客户顺利沟通,保证业务的顺利进行。所以外贸函电一开始就强调函电的写作原则7Cs:礼貌、体谅、清晰、简洁、正确等,我们强调国际商务函电的学习,是英文词语、句子、语法的正确运用的基础上,掌握如何站在双方的立场,保证外贸业务顺利进行的沟通技巧。所以,必须采用多元化的教学方法(即在每个项目的不同教学阶段通过不同的教学方法),保证学生真正在能根据不同的模拟情境进行大量的操作练习,真正参与到整个教学过程中来,而不是单纯地听、记、背、写的传统英语学习方法。

    (一)教师中心法

    这就是传统的以教师讲解为主的方法,适用于本课程及课程中每个教学单元的开始阶段。教师需要系统地向学生介绍有关《国际商务函电》的基本技巧和理论,以教师的讲解为主,辅以少量的学生参与;例如:

    在本课程中的情境一,关于国际商务函电写作的基本格式及基本技巧,就应该采用这种方式,通过老师的介绍,让学生对其有个正确的认识。

    (二)学生中心法

    这种方式常常在《国际商务函电》课内外训练和模拟活动中采用。教师在课前负责指导,制定好基本的活动程序与要求,在课堂上活动进行期间,不担任直接的讲解任务,只负责自己的模拟角色,并引导活动按程序进行。

    主要的过程可以解释为:教师讲解程序规则-学生练习、表演-其他学生发现问题、思考问题-教师引导解决问题。

    (三)师生互动法

    这种教学方法是《国际商务函电》教学的最突出的特色之一,并被广泛使用。教师不再是唯一的主讲人,而是鼓励学生对课文和自己的作业进行自我评价,或鼓励其他学生相互展开争论,教师则担任引导和总结的角色。

    (四)情境模拟法

    这种教学方法是在《国际商务函电》教学中以特定的学习情境为主线,以真实或模拟的职业活动为载体,基于函电教学的设计框架即

    “呈现新知、理解应用、模拟与评估”来进行教学。

    三、遵循4Ps,更加注重函电的沟通本质

    以业务流程为导向,按项目构架课程内容,注重学生参与与操作的整个教学过程,凸显了函电的业务沟通的本质。和一般的写英文文章不同,一封有实际意义的英文函电,重点不在于要求语言精确优美,而是要求能打动客户,解决问题,从而保证业务的顺利进行。这就要求回归到国际商务函电写作所强调的7Cs的原则,这其实更多的是业务素质在函电中的体现。这里通过一个情境的训练来说明这个问题。

    在讲要求延展信用证船期的部分有这样一个情境,由于我方备货不及等各方面原因造成赶不及按信用证规定船期发货,要求学生根据这个前提写一封要求客户延展信用证船期的信函。这一部分,我们采用了师生互动法进行教学,让学生自己根据情境书写,写完后互相评价,发现别人问题的同时发现自己的不足,并互相提出解决问题的建议。如:根据上述的情境,很多同学的信函这样开头:
